our native orchids and prefer a semi-shaded area, moderately acidic to
neutral moist soil. Aboriginal peoples used the roots in a sedative,
and in an epilepsy medicine. Pink Lady Slippers can live for 20 years
in some cases and return each year with their elegant beauty.
These Pink Lady Slipper Orchids are carefully removed from the ground
and some of the soil is gently washed off.
They are then placed in a plastic bag with moist towel placed around
the roots.
