Eastern Hemlock grows in different types of soil, but requires a moist
cool location.
They are used for coarse lumber, rough dimension stock, general
construction, boxes, crates, railway ties and pulp.
The wood is moderately light, fairly hard, low in strength; heartwood
light flesh-coloured, sapwood is lighter in colour.
They can grow from sixty to seventy feet tall and up to four feet in
diameter.
This is Canada`s most graceful conifer. Its branches are slender and
flexible, with the branch-lets forming flat sprays that spread
horizontally from the trunk and droop towards their ends.
They are shipped without soil and roots are wrapped in moist towel.
These Eastern Hemlock Trees are on average six to eight inches tall at
time of shipping (as in the picture) and have a good root system.
