Trilliums habitat is moist to dry, sandy to coarse loamy tolerant hard
wood stands. It does well in gardens and returns each year without any
extra effort. These low perennial herbs reach a height of 20 to 40 cm
tall from their short, stout underground stems (rhizomes).
Leaves are in a whorl of three at the top of the stem and are simple,
broad, egg shaped and narrow below the middle and are pointed at the tip
Flowers are white with three petals, oblong to lance shaped with pointed
and wavy edges. May is the month these beauties flower in bright white
before the petals turn to pinkish before they wither.
White Trilliums are the floral emblem of Ontario.
Plants are on average 3" or larger at time of shipping and are shipped
bare root.
They are very hardy and suffer little transplant shock. They will
bloom very soon after receiving them and produce black berries with many
seeds before this fall.
